For dozens of marginalized Ghanaians every month, being thrown out at midnight with nothing is not imagination. It is daily reality. The Safe House exists so no one has to stand in the dark with nowhere to go.
Donate to Safe HousingFamily rejection. Landlord evictions. Mob violence. Blackmail. The reasons vary, but the result is the same: vulnerable people, often young, with nowhere safe to turn. The streets are not an option, they bring more danger, more exploitation, more trauma.
This is why the Safe House Initiative exists. Not as a concept. Not as a plan. As a real, operating shelter that has already welcomed and protected dozens of lives since its doors opened.
I arrived with nothing but the clothes on my back. Within hours, I had a bed, a meal, and for the first time in weeks I slept without fear.
More than four walls, it is a system of care built around the understanding that safety makes healing, growth, and independence possible. Residents stay for up to three months while we work alongside them, a bridge from crisis to self-sufficiency, never dependency.
No overhead mystery, your giving feeds, shelters, counsels, and empowers someone who had no other option.
One night of safe shelter
One week: housing + meals
Full month of shelter + counseling
Complete 3-month stay with transition support
Demand consistently outpaces our capacity. We are raising $25,000 to sustain operations for 12 uninterrupted months, expand bed capacity, and ensure every person who reaches our door is welcomed, not turned away into the night.
